Organic Cotton Bedding FAQ – Whites of London NZ

Welcome to our organic cotton bedding FAQ. We have answered our most common customer questions below to help you make the best choice for your bedroom and the planet.

1. What are the benefits of organic cotton?

Organic cotton refers to naturally cultivated cotton without the use of synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, preventing contamination of groundwater and supporting the health of local communities. Switching to organic cotton bedding is one of the most positive environmental choices you can make for your home.

2. Is your packaging eco-friendly?

Yes! Our products are packed in cornstarch bags that are lightweight and fully biodegradable, leaving a lighter footprint on the planet.

3. What does GOTS certification mean?

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. It ensures every product is made ethically at each step of the process — from certified organic textiles through to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing and labelling.

4. What is the thread count for Whites of London sheets?

Our sheets are produced from luxurious soft fabrics including 200TC cotton percale, 600TC organic cotton and a soft blend of 300TC bamboo cotton.

5. What is cotton percale?

Percale is a high quality bedding fabric with a distinctive smooth, cool and crisp feel. Our cotton percale sheets actually get softer with each wash thanks to the long staple yarns we use.

6. What are the differences between your fabrics?

Organic Cotton

Our 100% organic cotton is woven for a soft, silky, luxurious finish. The 200TC percale allows air to circulate keeping you cool in summer and cosy in winter.

100% Linen

Woven from the finest European flax, our linen is processed and washed to make it light and airy — becoming more supple with each wash.

Bamboo Cotton

Our bamboo cotton combines natural softness with durability for a silky, breathable feel that is naturally hypoallergenic, moisture wicking and environmentally friendly.
